Geethu Chandramohan
I am Geethu, an aerospace engineer by profession, passionate about aircrafts and flying. I am originally from the beautiful state Kerala in India but currently live and work in the UK with my husband and son.
I started painting with watercolours when I was a child. But I was clueless, about various techniques or methods. But I loved painting with my brushes. I learnt by experimenting and by trying out on my own. I painted a lot and had no purpose back then. I never thought of art as a career. But one day, a friend suggested me to start an Instagram page for documenting my art. And that is how it all began. I started my Instagram page, @colourfulmystique posted all my work regularly. Gradually I started teaching in Skillshare and since then this small side hustle has turned into a self-employment alongside my aerospace systems office job.
My passion to paint and learn more has grown deeply over the years, and I have invested a lot into learning and improving my skills by attending online workshops and masterclasses.
Although my passion is for watercolours, I love experimenting with different mediums and enjoy painting with gouache and acrylics occasionally.
Now, I teach art mostly watercolour painting through Skillshare where more than 15000 students have taken my classes, have my own art community and paint daily. My online classes have always focussed on teaching people not just to follow their passion with watercolours but to discover the joy and purpose of painting from the inner self and to learn the techniques to incorporate learnings from my classes on their own. My ultimate goal is to keep working on improving my painting skills, to impart every bit of knowledge I have to others and to inspire more people to embark on their watercolour journey.
