Joly Poa
Joly is a watercolor artist based in the Philippines. She discovered painting with watercolor in 2013 as a hobby.
Starting out as a newbie with no background in painting, she developed her craft by practicing a lot. She believes that making many mistakes and seeking help from others were integral parts of her learning process.
What Joly loves about using watercolor is how she can express her style through dancing with her brush. Among the different subjects, she loves painting loose watercolor florals the most. Throughout the years, she was able to develop her own signature brush strokes.
Joly started sharing her artworks on instagram as a way to document her improvement. She has since been fortunate enough to connect with other artists, both experienced and newbies alike, through this platform. Among those she shares are photos of her artworks and process videos.
She started teaching workshops in 2016 and expanded to online classes in 2018. She has been invited as a speaker to many art events. To date, she has taught more than 20,000 students.
Joly's passion has been teaching and sharing what she has learned. She hopes to inspire more people in their watercolor journey.
