Phil Garrett
Phil Garrett did his undergraduate work at the University of South Carolina and the Honolulu Academy ,studying with the late Gabor Peterdi. He received his BFA at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1974 and lived and worked in the Bay Area until 1979 and South Carolina until 2017. He presently resides and works in Santa Fe NM.
He founded King Snake Press in 1998 for the production and promotion of Monotypes and has worked with numerous Artists from the region and elsewhere.
His work, which includes works on paper and paintings, are in public collections including the South Carolina State Museum, State of Hawaii, Greenville County Museum, Morris Museum of Art and corporate and private collections in the USA, Europe and Japan. Phil has completed numerous Artists residences, taught painting and printmaking in venues across the USA including The Penland School of Craft.
